Happy first Birthday Cooper

Today is officially Cooper's first birthday. This time last year I was calling the hospital to see what I should I do. I had been having contractions since 2:30am but they were 10-15 minutes apart and still fairly mild. They said, take a shower, eat some breakfast and take your time coming in. So I did. I had the nicest, hotest shower. Ate some breakfast (I can't even remember what I ate). Hubby phoned his mom and I phoned mine. We got ready and headed out and we were there by 11:00. The nurses were so nice and when the doctor came in to examine me he started giving me the "go home and relax. it's not time yet" speech. By the time he had finished the internal exam, he said "okay, never mind. We're going to admit you and put you on pitocin and congratulations, you'll be having your baby by dinner time". I thanked him as I knew he did something to get things going.
By 1:30 I was admitted to labour and delivery and we went to the room where I was going to deliver Cooper. I was impressed with the room and happy that I had my own bathroom. We never got to see the birthing rooms when we did our hospital tour as it's always so busy and there's really never an empty room so I had all these weird and crazy mental pictures of what I thought the room might look like. The nurse came in and started chatting while she hooked up my IV.
Then the pitocin started.
And that's where I have to leave you folks....... the party starts in a few hours and I have a ton of stuff to prepare and what seems to be a 1 year old baby that is refusing to nap.
